Asheville Citizen-Times: Who is on the Asheville ballot in May primaries? Find out who filed to run. (4 March 2022)

Voters check in before casting their ballots at the North Carolina Justice Academy in Edneyville on Election Day, Nov. 3, 2020.

Andrew Fletcher, is a musician and activist.

A community activist and performer, Fletcher is vice chair of both the Asheville Downtown Commission and the Public Art and Cultural Commission.

His priorities include greater council transparency, more support for the arts community and “getting serious” about affordable housing.

“Part of the reason that I’m running now is when I look around, I think that the perspective of working Asheville families, people who have seen the growth of tourism, but haven’t seen the benefits, is more necessary now than ever,” Fletcher said.

Fletcher also ran for City Council in 2017.
